宫园彩夏（秋元才加 饰）是东京一座内科医院的护士，在一场意外中，她脊髓受伤，半身不遂，这也就意味着，年仅23岁的彩夏，她的下半生要在轮椅上度过了。如此噩耗让彩夏的脸上失去了笑容，对待周围关心她的人亦非常的粗暴，其中包括彩夏的母亲洋子（大鸟丽 饰）。 几天之后，彩夏的男友后藤（森工隆 饰）前来医院探望，实际上，后藤是有妇之夫，彩夏和他一直保持着不伦的关系。这注定没有结局的恋情让彩夏倍感抑郁，她甚至想要结束自己的生命。在这个节骨眼上，彩夏遇见了名叫五十岚翔太（片冈直人 饰）的男孩，和彩夏一样，翔太也坐着轮椅。
