《帕罗奥图》的故事改编自弗兰科写的一本同名短篇小说集，由大导演弗朗西斯·科波拉的孙女吉亚·科波拉自编自导。 影片主要围绕生活在加利福尼亚的一群人展开，这群人包括了足球教练（弗兰科 饰）、一个临时婴儿保姆（艾玛·罗伯茨 饰）和一对惹上麻烦的孩子（Jack Kilmer和Nat Wolff）。 由预告片透露出的信息来看，在加利福尼亚的帕罗奥图这座小镇上，有寻爱的姑娘，有惹麻烦的男孩，也有两者兼顾的男人，而弗兰科便是这位“左右逢源”的男人，他在片中不但与年轻的罗伯茨之间有千丝万缕的情爱联系，也会参与年轻人的荒唐麻烦事。刚刚结束《春假》的弗兰科春心不减，本片看起来似乎略有一些轻口味《春假》的感觉。不过罗伯茨除了要与足球教练弗兰科情感纠葛之外，她与Jack Kilmer饰演的角色之间似乎也有扯不清的关系。 虽然首款预告看不出什么故事苗头，但方·基默的出现不可不谓一份惊喜，作为主演之一的他在预告片中首次亮相的形式也颇让人忍俊不禁，相信他在片中的表现也会是影片的大亮点之一。
