某日，一个神秘的女人（杰米·亚历山大 Jaimie Alexander 饰）以全裸的姿态出现在了人头攒动的时代广场，她的身上有着造型诡异如同地图一般的纹身，而这个女人对自己的过去和遭遇一无所知。
科特（苏利文·斯坦普莱顿 Sullivan Stapleton 饰）是一名联邦探员，他的名字亦被纹在了神秘女子的身上，因而被卷入了事件之中。上司任命科特为危机事件反应小组的组长，和同事里德（罗伯·布朗 Rob Brown 饰）、塔莎（Audrey Esparza 饰）等人一起彻查事件的来龙去脉。随着调查的深入，一个惊人的阴谋逐渐浮出了水面，为了阻止犯罪分子的行动，科特必须和神秘女子合作，因为她身上的纹身，正是化解整个案件的关键线索。
