法国的夏天不只有明媚的阳光，也有青春的悸动，中年生活的暗流涌动。14岁的皮佩特烧掉了信箱里的信，以为这样就能了却去寄宿学校的烦恼。她和姐姐约瑟芬这个夏天分别和离了婚的父母各住了一个月。姐妹俩经历了青春的懵懂，爱情和成长的阵痛；大人们也各自有各自的烦恼。约瑟芬遇人不淑，导致麻烦如影随形，而经常被大人们教育的皮佩特此刻却站了出来，表现出与年龄不符的成熟与稳重。人生的每个阶段都有自己的酸涩与喜悦，幸好在亲人的理解与支持下，姐妹俩得以翻开人生新的篇章。
