苏格兰女王玛丽（克蕾曼丝·波西 Clemence Poesy 饰）在18岁之前都生活在异国他乡，成年之后，她回到了苏格兰继承了王位。直到这时，这位天真的少女才发现，原来王室的生活除了肉眼可见的奢侈和华贵外，还暗藏着无数的下三路勾当。
