大嘴（林晓凡 饰）与同班的猴子（张一山 饰）是从小玩大的伙伴，同时大嘴对女孩小小（赵文琪 饰）也颇有好感，如今暑假来临，再开学就上高中了。猴子的表哥杰森（周立铭 饰）从海外回来，他是个Hiphop狂热爱好者，倔强的性格致使他与校篮球队长李威（王伟 饰）一见面就发生了严重冲突，双方在互殴中毁坏了溜冰场的设施，参予其中的大嘴被责令赔偿损失，大嘴的父亲老林（王志刚 饰）无奈地接受了现实。大嘴想参加每年一度的篮球比赛，赢得冠军奖金一万元，用这钱来赔偿溜冰场的损失。大嘴、猴子和杰森在联赛中发挥出色，很受媒体关注。冲突的另一方，李威的父亲李建国（王伟光 饰）却不甘心大嘴他们出风头，他要给对方使绊，以确保儿子能卫冕冠军。半决赛前夕，老林发现大嘴中考成绩不及格，一怒之下打了儿子，大嘴还能进入决赛吗......

The chasm between them seems to be growing despite Max's best efforts. Max jogs in the mornings and routinely passes a psychic.
