自1999年首次出任俄罗斯总统以来，普京已经在俄罗斯政坛活跃了整整15个年头。俄罗斯一频道在当地时间2015年4月26号晚上播出专题纪录片《总统》，该片着重讲述了在普京执政期间俄罗斯经历的重大历史事件，以及普京给俄罗斯带来的改变。
整个纪录片长两个半小时，内容包括普京任职俄罗斯高层领导的15年期间，俄罗斯所经历的重大事件，比如车臣战争、“库尔斯克”号潜艇沉没、克里米亚回归、索契冬奥会等；这期间世界上发生的大事也被记录在内：如“9·11”事件、伊拉克战争等。除此之外，普京给俄罗斯带来的改变也是纪录片的主要内容之一。纪录片总结了从1999年到2015年俄罗斯社会发生的改变，包括：国民生产总值从4.8万亿卢布涨到70.9万亿卢布、平均工资从每月1523卢布升至每月32611卢布、而通货膨胀率则从36.6%降到6.6%、国家负债从1580亿美元降至490亿美...
