HBO诗选剧《真探 True Detective》第二季评价下挫后，事隔两年才获批准拍第三季，第三季由Nic Pizzolatto执笔﹑Jeremy Saulnier﹑Daniel Sackheim及Nic Pizzolatto负责执导，现定于美国时间19年1月13日首播。
《真探》第三季讲述在Ozarks一个神秘﹑跨越数十年的犯罪故事，该季剧情会分成3个时间线。Mahershala Ali（凭《月光男孩 Moonlight》赢得奥斯卡最佳男配角）饰演主角Wayne Hays，阿肯色州西北区的州警探。
