故事开始于遥远的1642年，士兵约翰（尼可拉·科斯特-瓦尔道 Nikolaj Coster-Waldau 饰）跟随着军队在荷兰驻扎，在此期间，他意外地救下了一位印第安女郎，为了报答约翰的救命之恩，女郎在他的身上施下了神秘的魔法，那就是约翰将拥有无止境的青春和生命，直到他遇见命中注定的爱情。
