影片讲述已是生物研究员的安娜，为寻找十年前在科学考察神秘丛林任务中失踪的爷爷，找来爷爷的弟子谢博士与曾经爷爷同事的儿子李宇航组建团队，再次踏上那片神秘丛林，找寻线索。在原始森林中，探险队先后与史前猪鳄、变异巨蛛生死博弈，更是发现了仅存在传说中的神秘生物——大脚怪，正当大伙沉浸在喜悦之中，却不知更大的危险悄然而至......
