《极度惊蝗》剧情简介
昆虫学博士麦迪走马上任美国农业部专门研究昆虫部门的负责人，事业正面临蒸蒸日上之势。然而繁忙的工作却导致了她与男友丹的关系恶化，就在双方的感情陷入危机之时，麦迪又迎来了工作上的一大难题——变异的蝗虫正席卷全美。原来这种变异的蝗虫是麦迪管辖的C-12实验室的彼得博士通过杂交的方法培育出来的，他的初衷只是单纯地为了科研目的。
但这种蝗虫的繁育能力非常强，并且现有的任何一种杀虫剂对这些蝗虫来说都是无济于事的。也就是说，这些蝗虫一旦泄漏一只都将给人类带来巨大的灾难。麦迪当即下令彼得中止研究并就地销毁所有蝗虫，彼得也因此被解雇。然而一名实验室的操作员却偷偷留下了几只蝗虫。不久，这几只蝗虫在被秘密送往毕尔空军基地后不甚泄漏，于是，之前麦迪所预想的灾难真的发生了。
蝗虫以令人难以置信的速度迅速繁殖，它们所及之处，不但所有植物瞬间凋谢，地上交通、空中交通以及人们的正常...
