《无辜的人》剧情简介
罗恩·威廉森1953年生于俄克拉荷马州埃达镇，当他因棒球事业受挫而不得不回到家乡后，他的人生从此坠入深渊。1982年，一名年轻女孩遇害，这起恶性案件在当地引起了极高的关注。在缺少证据的情况下，检察官和警方联手将威廉森定罪，他在死囚区惊恐地等待着自己的命运，他被夺走了一切，仅存的是家人的支持以及无法证实的真相：他是无辜的。
这个真实事件中极为沉痛的一点是，威廉森是一个严重的双向情感障碍患者，这意味着他对现实缺乏正确的认知，无法做出正确的决定，为自己翻案伸冤。但即便在失去理智的时候，他一直在监狱昼夜不停地呐喊自己无罪。
本片根据约翰·格里森姆的作品《无辜的人：一个美国小镇上的谋杀与冤案》改编，再现了这起案件的始末。
