艾米（丽塔·沃尔克 Rita Volk 饰）和卡玛（凯蒂·史蒂文斯 Katie Stevens 饰）是一对好友，两人相识多年，感情十分要好。一次偶然中，卡玛遇见了名为连姆（格雷格·萨克因 Gregg Sulkin 饰）的英俊男孩，一幅画让卡玛无意之中窥见了连姆隐藏在面具 之下的真实性情，因此对他心生好感，可是，连姆周围的女孩子实在是太多了，平凡的卡玛能够获得真爱吗？假亦真”是MTV一部新的浪漫喜剧。关于两个用着略有不同的方式爱着对方的好朋友，企图变成受欢迎的高中生，经历过无数次失败的尝试后，却意外地在其他人误认为她们女同性恋者后得到了巨大的关注，这让他们获得了学校里的的“名人”地位。因诱惑太大，卡玛和艾米决定不澄清并继续他们的装“女同性恋者”的诡计。
